I’ve had a love affair with the Porsche Carrera for as long as I can remember. While not the most expensive sports car, it is, in my opinion, one of the hottest.

The base model with no extras starts at a cool $84,300. While that’s way out of my price range, I feed my love of this car by featuring one in most of my novels. Of course my hero’s don’t often drive the base model. The 911 Turbo is the order of the day when you must save the world, or at least your girl. If you decide to fork over the money for the 911 Turbo S Cabriolet, it’ll set you back around $172,100. Even the base model goes from 0 to 60 in 4.6 seconds. I would assume that would make this model a blast to drive. The 911 Turbo S goes from  to 60 in 3.2 seconds, making this a car my husband and insurance company would both ban me from ever driving. While I’ve not had the opportunity to drive a new 911, I have driven an eight year old 911. A few years of age did not temper the fun. The car handled like a dream. It hugged the corners and maneuvered through traffic easily. Although the price tag was still a little out of this writer’s price range. If you are looking for a hot car for one of your characters, or for yourself for that matter, think about the Porsche 911, and just remember, it is a blast to drive.
