The Porsche Boxster is a cute little two-seater. The base model has 265 hp and will go from zero to sixty in 5.5 seconds with a top track speed of 164 mph.
While the base model has plenty of horse power, the Boxter S has larger engine – 315 hp and will go from zero to sixty in 4.8 seconds with a top track speed of 173.
While this gem of a sports car has plenty of get up and go, it also gets decent gas mileage – about 30 mpg on the highway for the Boxter and 28 mpg for the Boxter S..
The base price for the Boxster is just under fifty thousand. While this isn’t chump change, for a sports car, it’s a decent price. The Boxster S is about sixty-one thousand.
When comparing prices to other sports cars, the Corvette starts at just under fifty-thousand, the Ferrari – well it’s going to set you back hundreds of thousands and the Porsche 911 starts at just under a hundred grand.
For years I’ve heard the Boxster referred to as “chick car”. But take a gander at this photo of the 2013 Boxter. Porsche has made several changes to body styling and according to the Digital Trends review headline: “Porsche’s 2013 Boxster finally finds some testosterone.”
Digital Trends provides a great review of this car. You can read the entire review here.
I haven’t had the chance to drive a Boxter, but if it handles anything like the 911, it would be a blast to drive. Hopefully someday I will have the opportunity slide behind the wheel of this sweet ride, but until then, I may have to satisfy my need for speed with using this car in one of my novels.
